Our Orthodontic Services

From Seattle braces to Bellevue Invisalign, we have options to change your smile (and life!).

Orthodontics Isn’t One Size Fits All

Your smile is unique as you, which is why we have many services to ensure you get the best treatment possible.

Invisalign is one of our services at our Seattle and Bellevue orthodontic offices.

Wouldn’t you or your teen love to straighten your smile without other people noticing? Wish you could avoid the burden of metal braces? Invisalign may be the option for you!

Invisalign is the modern twist to orthodontics, using clear, comfortable aligners (instead of metal brackets and wires!).

Why is Invisalign better than traditional Seattle braces?

  • The aligners are removable
  • You can enjoy your favorite foods and drinks
  • Brush and floss normally
  • Aligners are virtually invisible, making treatment discreet
  • Very comfortable to wear
  • Faster to complete than traditional braces (every case is different)

At Teng Smiles Orthodontics, we have Invisalign options for adults AND teens.

Ceramic Braces are part of our Seattle braces solutions

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces perform the same function as metal braces. The difference is ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are most popular with adult patients, due to their cosmetic appeal.

This allows you to enjoy your life without feeling embarrassed of your braces. You’ll feel better about yourself knowing that the natural beauty of your teeth is shining through, and not your braces.

iTero Element

As an orthodontist in Seattle and Bellevue, Dr. Teng is always staying up-to-date on the latest technologies to ensure your smile is receiving the best treatment. This includes incorporating the iTero machine into our practice.

What does this mean for you? No more goopy impressions! The iTero machine takes digital impressions of your smile, which makes them more accurate and comfortable in receiving your orthodontic treatment.

Interceptive Early Treatment can anticipate the most advantageous time to begin treatment, saving you time and money.

Interceptive Early Treatment

When should your child first see a Seattle or Bellevue orthodontist? The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that the initial orthodontic evaluation should occur at the first sign of orthodontic problems or no later than age 7. At this early age, orthodontic treatment may not be necessary, but vigilant examination can anticipate the most advantageous time to begin treatment, saving you time and money.

What are the advantages of early treatment?

  • Creating room for crowded, erupting teeth
  • Creating facial symmetry through influencing jaw growth
  • Reducing the risk of trauma to protruding front teeth
  • Preserving space for unerupted teeth
  • Reducing the need for tooth removal
  • Reducing treatment time with braces

In the end, your child can take advantage of a healthy, beautiful smile which will establish an excellent bite and increase confidence for your child’s early years.

Adult Orthodontics is possible at Teng Smile Orthodontics

Adult Orthodontics

Adults can pursue orthodontics too! In fact, about 50% of our patients are over the age of 21.

Orthodontics not only can give you the straight, beautiful smile you’ve always wanted, but can create significant health benefits for your smile as well. Crooked teeth and a bad bite can have negative effects on your oral health, including gum and bone loss, tooth decay, abnormal wear of the tooth enamel and surfaces, headaches and jaw joint (TMJ/TMD) pain.

With advancements in orthodontics, Dr. Teng provides modern techniques and appliances to make your treatment comfortable and even shorten your treatment time. What are you waiting for? Call us to schedule your consultation and find out which treatment is best for your smile.

Interdisciplinary Orthodontics focuses on the whole you, not just your teeth.

Interdisciplinary Orthodontics

When it comes to your smile, it’s crucial to have clear communication with your general dentist and any other specialists you’re seeing. Dr. Teng is well respected among the community for his quality of care and passion for his patients. By cohesively working together, you won’t only walk out of our office with a straight smile, but you’ll notice an overall improvement in your oral health and well-being.

Dr. Teng partners with your healthcare providers to look at the whole picture of your smile and overall health. Is your bite aligned? Are your gums healthy? Are you experiencing headaches? How’s your health? All of these factors are considered to ensure your treatment is a comprehensive plan to benefit you for years down the road. Some treatments could include:

  • Jaw surgery
  • TMJ treatment
  • Restorative dentistry
  • Periodontal treatment

Every situation is different, and Dr. Teng will work with your doctor to ensure you’re getting the best care available.

Metal Braces are the traditional solution for orthodontics

Metal Braces

Traditional Seattle and Bellevue braces are high-quality and effective to ensure your teeth are moved to their optimal position. They consist of titanium or stainless steel brackets, archwires, and rubber bands (or ligature elastics). Metal braces have advanced exponentially, making them more comfortable and less noticeable than in the past.

Jaw Surgery is needed to fix your jaw's function.

Jaw Surgery

Corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery) treats and corrects abnormalities of the facial bones, specifically the jaws and the teeth. Often, these abnormalities cause difficulty associated with chewing, talking, sleeping and other routine activities. Orthognathic surgery corrects these problems and, in conjunction with orthodontic treatment, will improve the overall appearance of the facial profile.

Using the latest in digital imaging technology, we will demonstrate the overall functional and aesthetic benefits of orthognathic surgery. Computerized treatment planning minimizes treatment times, recovery periods and the overall efficacy of your surgery. These advances in technology, procedures and equipment reduce post-surgical recovery time, thus allowing you to return to you normal routines soon after the surgery. In the end, you’ll enjoy your life free from pain and look amazing with your new smile.

Retention will ensure your teeth stay in its appropriate position for the rest of your life.

When your orthodontic treatment is complete, it’s important to keep your results. This includes wearing a retainer to keep your new smile for the rest of your life. Retainers will hold your teeth in position and prevent them from shifting.

Our retention includes retainer checks for up to one year.
